The Renewed Hope Foundation Volunteer Opportunities

Every single day, The Renewed Hope Foundation helps people in emergencies. Whether it's one displaced family, thousands of disaster victims, or providing care and comfort to an ill or injured service member or veteran or support to a military family member, our vital work is made possible by people like you. It is through the time and care of ordinary people that we can do extraordinary things.

The Renewed Hope Foundation is always looking for people with various backgrounds, talents and skill levels. Our needs are often specific based on current events and levels of ground support, but we'll do our best to accommodate your desire to get involved!

General Oportunities

Administrative Support-Help with routine administrative duties such as entering data, filing, and mailing
Fundraising Support-Provide support with Salesforce and other database management, donor mailings, special events and other administrative tasks
Thank a Donor-Make calls to thank The Renewed Hope Foundation financial donors
Public Affairs-Help spread The Renewed Hope Foundation story across the community
Volunteer Management-Assist with volunteer recruitment, placement, record keeping and recognition
School Clubs-High school students to lead The Renewed Hope Foundation school clubs
Language Bank-Utilize your language skills to translate

Engagement Opportunities for Organizations

Organizational Event-Based Volunteers-Support The Renewed Hope Foundation events as an organization (including telethons, canvassing events, etc.)
Ready When the Time Comes Volunteers-Corporations, schools, churches, or other community organizations can train employees to serve as The Renewed Hope Foundation volunteers when a major local disaster strikes.

Disaster Response

Disaster Action Team-Be on call and work as a member of a team to provide immediate emergency aid to people affected by single and multi-family incidents; usually home fires
Disaster Staff Services-Help with onboarding, placing and processing new volunteers
Health/Mental Health Services-Address the health or mental health needs of disaster survivors and disaster workers
Logistics-Establish partnerships with qualified vendors that can be activated during disasters for transportation, warehousing and disaster relief supplies
Damage Assessment-Verify and classify disaster caused damage to homes
Sheltering-Be a part of a team that manages The Renewed Hope Foundation emergency shelters
Feeding-Survey potential vendors and voluntary organizations who can provide feeding support during time of disaster

Disaster Preparedness

Community Preparedness Presenter-Educate individuals and groups on how to be prepared before a disaster occurs
Pillowcase Presenter-Teach children grades 3-5 how to prepare for emergencies, enhance coping skills, and practice protective measures that they can share with their family

Preparedness Health and Safety

Health and Safety Instructor-Teach community classes such as CPR, First Aid and water safety to children and adults
Health and Safety Instructor Trainer-Train instructors on how to teach community classes such as CPR, First Aid and water safety to children and adults

Services to the Armed Forces

Armed Forces Caseworker-Ensure delivery of emergency communications for members of the military and their dependents to keep these families connected during crisis
International Tracing Services-Assist in the international search for persons living overseas, in war-torn countries or thought to be living in your community
Administrative Support-Administrative and clerical support at Military bases
Military Briefing-Briefing various military and civilian groups throughout the island on The Renewed Hope Foundation programs
Medical Professionals and Paraprofessionals-Lend a hand to patients at Veterans Administration and military hospitals (MD, LPN, PRN, Licensed PT, Pharmacists, EMT, CAN, MA, Pharmacy Tech, PT Practitioners)
Youth Support-Support and shadow other volunteers and professionals at Veterans Administration and military hospitals
Human Animal Bond Program-Volunteers bring their dogs to Tripler Army Medical Center wards, clinics and waiting areas for informal visits with patients who are recovering from physical, mental or social illness

Volunteers carry out 90% of the humanitarian work of The Renewed Hope Foundation.

2.Build Your Vounteer Profile

Get started by filling out the appropriatevolunteer application:

Adult Opportunities - This application is set for adult volunteers who are 18 years of age or older. This option will allow volunteers to take an online orientation from home. A background check will be required for all adult volunteers.

Youth and Young Adult Opportunities - This application is set for volunteers who are younger than 18 years of age. This option will allow volunteers to take an online orientation from home. Parental permission is a required, but a background check is not.

Services to the Armed Forces

The Renewed Hope Foundation places volunteers on Oahu to work in hospitals, medical clinics and administrative offices on military installations. If you are a licensed medical professional or paraprofessional, you can use your skills to support our military community.

Volunteer at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base or Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam

Volunteers working at these installations must have access to get on base. Get started now by filling out a Volunteer Application.

Volunteer at Tripler Hospital or Schofield Barracks

Military base access is not required for these installations. Volunteers working at Tripler or Schofield are required to attend an in-person The Renewed Hope Foundation Orientation. Get started now by filling out a Volunteer Application.
